All the world knows Munich for the Oktoberfest, Great Beer Halls and Beer Gardens. What people don't know are the great options that Munich can offer during the summer with crystal clear lakes in close proximity, a river so clean that you can swim in it, running through the city and great hiking options with the Alps at it's doorstep. The historic city center offers insight in Munich's long history of Kings, Emperors and both World Wars. The city center also offers great shopping options in Sendlinger Strasse and Kaufinger Strasse, whilst the Glockenback Viertel is the up and coming area to go out. Places to see are: Koenigsplatz, Maximilian Strasse, Marienplatz, Isartor and the English Garden, which is the biggest city park in the world!! To round up this review, this is where you will find some of the most beautiful Beergardens.

The world's most famous beer hall lies within the city centre, known as the Hofbrauhaus. Guests can also take an excursion to the Glockenspiel Carillon, Ludwigstrasse, Olympic Stadium, and the Nymphenburg Palace. Although the Dachau Village reminds everyone of the city's sinister past, the beautiful views of the Marienplatz can take away all woes. Munich, located at the river Isar in the south of Bavaria, is famous for its beautiful architecture, fine culture and the annual Oktoberfest beer celebration. Munich's cultural scene is second to none in Germany, with the museums even considered by some to outrank Berlin in quality. Munich is also a major international center of business, engineering, research and medicine exemplified by the presence of two research universities, a multitude of smaller colleges, headquarters of several multinational companies and world class technology and science museums. Its world class hotels and restaurants, not forgetting the quaint beer gardens, make Munich a fabulous place to explore international and local cuisine. There are numerous event locations in Munich from the Olympic Stadium to prestigious conference hotels, there is something for every occasion. The best time to visit Munich is March to May: fall's crowds have long since departed and summer's peak season hasn't yet hit. But if you're one of the millions who want to party at Oktoberfest make sure to book well in advance.
