The Mechelen center is about the area of City Centre Mechelen and the area of St. Rumbolds Cathedral.
Below are reviews of the city of Mechelen, Belgium from an actual visitor's perspective.
The city center and surrounding blocks were beautiful! Restaurants were plentiful and staff service was good. Plenty of historical sights to see and interesting architecture. I felt safe, the city was clean, and I would like to come back!
Big supermarket right next to the hotel.
Mechelen is an undiscovered jewel of a town half way between Brussels and Antwerp in the Flemish part of Belgium. It is dripping with architectural gems ranging from the impressive cathedral and Grootmarkt to the gable fronted houses of the old town. Mechelen is a great place for a relaxing weekend, with lots of sights to see, plenty of easy town walking and a good selection of restaurants. Mechelen is a little pricy but worth a visit.
