Home to the popular Vancouver Whitecaps football team, Swangard Stadium is an intimate sports stadium with a seating capacity of about 5,000. It was built in 1969, and also serves as home to the Simon Frazer University sports teams. Swangard Stadium also hosted the inaugural FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship in 2002.While it is primarily used for soccer and football, Swangard Stadium also hosts events such as track events, concerts, and theater performances. Swangard Stadium has held up to 10,000 people, with many opting for standing-room-only space due to the exciting nature of many of the events held at Swangard Stadium.There are 350 parking spaces on site as well as an additional 500 in a nearby lot. Street parking is limited, so plan accordingly. Swangard Stadium has wheelchair accessible seating and restrooms, and the availability of many other features depend on the event being held. Tickets can be purchased in advance for many events, or at Swangard Stadium's box office on the day of the event.
