Cool historic town, train museum is a must especially in Summer. They have some really cool train rides. Perfect base to go to Great Basin Park and the many other attractions near by.
The scenery! Love Ely, the train museum, scrub pines, rocks and boulders!
We normally travel through Ely we don't do much around town. The town is a great old mining town!
There are nice restaurants in town as well as interesting shops.
I like everything about Ely but I have family there and have been visiting for over 60 years...all I can say is my family has been there forever and loves it!!

Ely is a great stopping off location if you are going to Reno or points west. My stays at Ramada have been good.

The Train Museum is fun for old train fans. Always a nice day, and watching the trains in the repair yard is exciting.

We liked Ely. We rode the train and went to the historical city museum. We wanted a road trip, so drove up there to see the National Park, but enjoyed Ely more than the Park.
Surprisingly, there was a lot to do in the town. And the people were extremely friendly and helpful!
I came for the snow and desert mountain vistas.
