The Thorold center is about 2 miles southeast of St. Catherines Amtrak and 2 miles northwest of Beechwood G&CC.
The best time to visit Thorold is in June, July, or August, thanks to the fair temperatures the city enjoys in these months. Although June averages more rainfall than July and August, the temperatures tend to be at their warmest during these months, which means that visitors to the city can enjoy the great outdoors as much as they wish during their stay.
However, with the warmer temperatures comes higher prices. Nightly rates tend to be more expensive in the city's hotels in the summer months. Because it's a better time to visit, the city is more popular among tourists in summer. With larger crowds during the summer months, it's certainly a wise idea to book early to avoid disappointment and to get the best hotel deal possible.
Most people are probably aware of just how cold Ontario can be, especially in December, January, and February, in which the average low temperature can reach 19 degrees Fahrenheit. It's also typical for it to snow significantly during these months, so if you don't feel like trudging through the city in snow boots, it wouldn't exactly be wise to visit at these times — unless you're a winter sports enthusiast, of course.
If you'd like to visit Thorold when it's not too hot and not too cold, and when hotel prices are reasonable, then May, September, and October are the best times to visit. You can still enjoy what the city has to offer without doing so in extreme temperatures. If you opt to visit in May, just make sure you pack an umbrella and some extra layers. Rainfall levels tend to be higher during this month.

Below are reviews of the city of Thorold, ON from an actual visitor's perspective.
Niagara on the Lake was beautiful!
I liked that Thorold was close to Niagara Falls.
We stayed in Thorold as it was close enough to Niagara night entertainment and to St. Catharines for the function we were attending. Convenient quiet city.
Small, under developed. Friendly town though.
