Essen is a lovely city in North- Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. For decades Essen was famous for coal and steel manufacturers, when in 1958 it was selected as the seat to a Roman Catholic diocese. In 2010 it was also chosen as a European Capital of Culture and not so long ago it was announced that Essen will become the European Green Capital in 2017. So if you want to enjoy spending some time in this beautiful green city of Germany, go ahead and start to plan your trip right away. As there are so many places of interest in Essen and you will not be able to see all of them in one day, we are going to give this short list of some Essen hotels. Even though it is not so hard to find hotels in Essen, you might get lost between the prices and the services that you can get there.
