Under the ballparks design, fans viewing lines became among the most important factor. From inside the park, fans can see picturesque buildings while roaming the massive grounds featuring shops, restaurants, offices and various other recreations. Of this large area, 70,000 square feet is dedicated to retail space with another 36,000 square feet being reserved for the Tigers offices.
On the main concourse, fans can take a journey through time at the Walk of Fame. A tour of baseball and lifestyle history can be found here. Eras from the 20th century are among the attractions for fans as they progress through the walk and move into a new time in history. Decade Monuments, which cover 20 years, are placed throughout the concourse and feature artifacts from the past.
What may seem traditional at most ballpark will make Comerica Park stand out above the rest. The main scoreboard here is larger than that of any other facility in existence. The face of the structure is 180' wide with one video screen, one large black and white matrix board with the line score and a color matrix board. A vintage scoreboard is on hand at right-center field while a Pitch Information board keeps fans informed as to the speed of each pitch. With a seating capacity of over 40,000 spectators, Comerica Park features suites and plenty of seats close to the action. The Tiger Den, one of Comerica Park's premium seating areas, is the first of it's kind in the history of baseball. It resembles vintage sporting venues with a private lounge for customers. The Tiger Club, on the other hand, is open on a membership basis and features approximately 20,000 square feet of space. Seating capacity here is 300 and is overlooking the right field playing area.
Autograph seekers may seek autographs up to 45 minutes prior to the opening pitch. Comerica Park has assigned the railings near the playing field as an appropriate place for collectors to conduct their search. Guest will be asked to leave the section when the game is scheduled to begin within 45 minutes, so be sure to bring something to get signed and film for the camera!
